sunflowers and seeds

also seen the sunflower seeds which was quite interesting from an installation point of view. Like me Ai Weiwei's Unilever Series wanted to submerge the viewer in the installation communicate something personal about his way of thinking directly from the contact with the viewer. From afar the seeds take a massive space but when seen close you wonder how people had the patience to paint something so small. according to the video played on the making process and the artist, it takes a skilled worker only up to three strokes of a paintbrush to paint a single seed. Ai Weiwei's concept of the individual in a whole is such a beautiful one, one which many people forget about the society we live in now. The videos about the artist are well worth watching even tho viewers aren't allowed to touch the exhibition anymore. Tate modern info
